The Essential Checklist for Launching Your First Livestream on ShopifyUpdated 2 months ago

Platform: Shopify + LyveCom

Audience: DTC Brands, Founders, Ecommerce Managers

Purpose: Launch your livestream with confidence, clarity, and conversions using this pre-live checklist

Livestream Launch Checklist for Shopify + LyveCom

Going live is one of the fastest ways to engage and convert — but only if you prep right.
This checklist walks you through the key steps to launch confidently and turn viewers into buyers.

1. Start with a Clear Goal

What does success look like for this stream?

Pick ONE primary focus:

  • Launch a new product

  • Move seasonal or excess stock

  • Promote a limited-time offer

  • Educate your audience

  • Drive traffic to a collection

Let your goal shape your script, product picks, and CTA.

2. Curate 3–5 Products That Tell a Story

Less is more when it comes to livestreams.

What to feature:

  • Bestsellers or high-margin items

  • New drops or restocks

  • Bundles or complementary products

  • Limited inventory or special pricing

👉 Avoid overwhelming viewers — keep it simple and focused.

3. Promote Early and Often

No one shows up without a heads-up.

Where to promote:

  • Email (2–3 days before + day-of reminder)

  • Instagram Stories (use countdowns)

  • TikTok teasers and BTS clips

  • Banner on your homepage

  • SMS or push notifications

Tell people what’s in it for them — exclusives, demos, first access.

4. Set Up a Clean Livestream Page

Make watching AND shopping easy.

If you’re using LyveCom, your livestream page will:

  • Embed your live video

  • Feature shoppable product tags

  • Support mobile and desktop viewers

  • Let shoppers buy without leaving

🛠 Checklist:

  • Add title + short description

  • Tag each product

  • Customize CTA (“Add to Cart” / “Tap to Shop”)

  • Test mobile experience

5. Prep Your Tech + Setup

Good sound + lighting = more trust = more sales.

Minimum setup:

  • Smartphone or webcam (HD preferred)

  • Ring light or natural light

  • Clip-on or wireless mic

  • Clean background — on-brand but not cluttered

Test everything the day before — lighting, framing, sound, tags.

6. Plan Your Run-of-Show

Even casual streams need a roadmap.

🕒 Sample flow:

  • 0–3 min: Welcome + what’s coming

  • 3–20 min: Product demos + value

  • Midway: Engagement break — ask a Q, do a shoutout

  • Optional: Time-sensitive offer

  • Last 5–10 min: Q&A + final CTA

  • Close: Recap, thank viewers, direct to shop/replay

Keep energy high and circle back to your goal throughout.

7. Go Live and Be Present

Don’t aim for perfect — aim for real.

Tips while live:

  • Talk like you're FaceTiming a customer

  • Point out clickable tags + product CTAs

  • Reintroduce key info every few mins (people join late)

  • Be warm, be helpful — people buy from people they trust

8. Save + Repurpose Your Replay

The stream lives on. So should your sales.

After the stream:

  • Publish the replay on your product pages

  • Add timestamps so viewers can skip to sections

  • Share clips on IG, TikTok, YouTube Shorts

  • Review watch time, product clicks, and sales data

  • Adjust your next stream based on insights

Pro Tip: Run a Private Test Stream

Before the real one:

  • Go live privately (LyveCom supports this)

  • Practice your flow

  • Check your lighting, mic, product tags

  • Shake off the nerves
